Violet is a renowned independent bakery and coffee shop based in Dalston. We have been in business for 20 years under the direction of Pastry Chef, Author, and Business Owner, Claire Ptak. Working with the best seasonal ingredients year round, we make cakes and bakes that are sold through our small but busy café.
We are currently seeking a keen, hard-working individual to join our front of house team, delivering first class customer service to our wonderful customers, who visit from near and far.
The right candidate will have some coffee experience, though training is provided, strong customer service skills and a can-do attitude. We require someone with a flexible schedule who can prioritise working at Violet and being a part of our strong, close knit team. We love to promote from within where possible and when opportunities arise, so we are looking to employ someone with an interest in working in the hospitality industry and encourage learning and growth within your role, whichever position you hold at Violet.
While we would love for everyone to have a weekend day off, it’s also our busiest time by far, so you should expect to work quite a lot of Saturdays and Sundays, consistent weekend availability is a must.
Living close by is important for both punctuality and as we are a neighbourhood cafe, so we like to employ people who live within the local community.
Full product and systems training will be provided.
Key expectations and responsibilities are as follows: - Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment. - Strong team work skills with an ability to also work independently and prioritise tasks. - Good communication skills. - Warm customer service skills. - Working on the till, handling transactions according to the Violet guidelines. - Serving, packaging and boxing up products in line with the Violet guidelines. - Completing daily guides and checklists, including deep cleaning tasks.
At Violet we offer daily, healthy staff lunch, a 30% discount on all cabinet items, our savoury menu and cake orders, we provide a £50 voucher, valid for 6 months, on your birthday and again on work anniversaries.
