Duties and Responsibilities as a Team Member
This position requires experienced baristas with food service experience with a passion for coffee and a keen eye for detail. Our Baristas love coffee and ensuring consistency and quality in our coffee and hot drinks offerings whilst contributing to innovation and product development
● An strong knowledge of coffee brewing methods, espresso machine operation, and latte art
● Welcoming guests and taking drink and food orders
● Processing payments
● Preparing and serving of all food & beverage orders
● Maintaining good Front of House housekeeping
● Ensuring that all supplies and displays are stocked throughout the day. Ordering of additional supplies may be required
● Independently opening and closing the shop
● Ensuring all coffee beverages, alternative drinks, and food meet our quality standards and are consistently prepared to the highest standard
● Conducting regular quality checks on all coffee/hot drink products (inclusive of beans, powders, teas, milks)
● Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the coffee bar and bar kitchen areas at all times
● Assisting in the daily operations of the coffee bar and bar kitchen, ensuring an efficient and smooth service
● Reporting daily inventory requirements to Head Barista/Operations Director
● Monitoring equipment performance and report maintenance and repair needs to Head Barista/Operations Director
Qualifications Required Include
● The ability to build lasting relationships with customers from local regulars to one-time regulars
● The ability to work and thrive alone or as part of a team
● Excellent communication skills; both to give and ask for help where required
● The ability to prioritise effectively under pressure
● A keen situational awareness within the shop
● A positive attitude and work ethic
● Proven experience as a barista, and a desire to develop skills
● Exceptional customer service and communication skills
● The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
