BARISTA

At the heart of The Village is the Anya Cafe, serving breakfast, coffee, a mid-shopping lunch, afternoon tea, or a relaxing glass of Champagne or cocktail on the terrace. The cafe also offers a selection of specially created Anya Hindmarch cakes and biscuits, designed to eat in or be taken away as gifts in beautiful boxes - each with a twist of the brand’s trademark humour.

BASIC INFORMATION

Reporting to Head Barista/Assistant General Manager/General Manager. ROLE OVERVIEW

We are now looking for a passionate coffee professional to join our team as part-time barista at Anya Cafe.

Working as part of the professional team within our busy all day cafe, bar and patisserie, you will be integral to the guest experience. Whether working an opening shift or closing shift you will be preparing mise en place and setting up the cafe for service, taking orders and running food and drink, and always to a five star standard of delivery.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To work as a key member of the cafe team and pitch in wherever required
  • Dialling-in grinder, espresso and filter machines
  • To maintain the highest brewing standards at all times and ensure that all drinks are consistently being served to the highest quality
  • To support the launch of new products / sites and assist in the coffee workflow design of those spaces
  • To ensure compliance with hygiene and health and safety standards
  • Maintain a close control on counter supplies, stock levels, wastage and profitability
  • Develop and maintain an active, dynamic, general and specific coffee knowledge
  • Actively guide and assist customers in their drinks selections and retail purchases

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • An experienced coffee professional with exceptional barista skills and an advanced understanding of brewing across a variety of different brewing methodologies
  • Passionate about coffee and all aspects of the coffee industry
  • Creative and adaptable, able to provide solutions not problems
  • Holds the Right to Work in the UK

KEY SKILLS

  • Exceptional organisational skills and a focus on detail. Proactive, able to manage multiple projects at one time and able to plan their day to avoid anything getting missed
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritise their workload effectively
  • Customer service skills and a people person; you build relationships easily and work well with people from all backgrounds
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to come up with creative solutions to issues
  • Able to work with a team, take direction from others and collaborate effectively
