Leading the cafe team to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of Fair Shot Cafe. This role requires quick decision-making abilities, common sense, energy and the team organisation skills. The manager must have a desire to support the team and take pride in delivering a welcoming and positive experience for our customers, leading the team to grow, can confidently manage budgets and ROTAs and drive sales.

Supporting programme need in Fair Shot cafe: ensure cafe team is supported in each stations to deliver training to learners, and play a pivotal role in addressing anything programme and cafe related with Learners Support Lead understanding the individual needs to learners and prioritising learners’ development while balancing cafe operations through clear communication and proactive problem solving, Showing kindness, empathy and patience towards learners, and advocate for an inclusive work environment that thrives on a diverse team Support the Head of Programmes and Programme coordinator to be able to carry out their jobs as successfully as possible and ensuring that our learners are supporting into sustainable paid employment

Cafe Management: Target & Performance In charge of all metrics related to cafe performance and ensure all reports accurately reflect actual and timely cafe performance (such as daily sales spreadsheet, item sales and wastage) Initiating weekly, monthly and quarterly actions to address all issues to improve cafe performance, communicating any cafe activities (products and campaigns) with Marketing Manager according to plan identify areas of improvement, proactively improve quality of food, beverages, services and maintain a standard that is competitive in the Covent Garden area and representative of our mission Work closely with the Marketing Manager to increase footfall & revenue by planning and implementing seasonal campaigns and providing feedback from cafe perspective Generating ideas to highlight specific areas of the cafe ( such as new menu, collaboration products ) alongside the Marketing Manager to contribute in the marketing plan

Team Management According to the approved budget, creating the cafe team rota that enhances efficient running of the cafe ( 7 days a week) and cover role specific office hours, provide structure to the team’s work days, and be the go-to person for questions regarding work hours, holidays, time off, break times etc. Manage team holidays request to enhance smooth operation throughout the holiday year and that budget is well spent to meet business needs Handling cafe team’s work hours and month end payroll to support monthly payroll process Organizing monthly cafe team meetings and bi monthly cafe and Mencap team meetings on the learners

Procurement Responsible for supplier arrangement according to cafe business need and strive for an efficient practice of running the cafe Maintain good record of all invoices and payment in relation to supplier payment Maintaining communication with Assistant Cafe Manager on supplies ordering and delivering training to ensure cafe organization and smooth operation Enhance overall cost efficiency by minimising wastage and optimising resources allocation

Communication: With Cafe team: Maintain active and clear communication with Assistant Cafe Manager regarding all things cafe related and play an incremental part of transparent work culture host monthly team meeting to ensure all team members share ownership of the cafe performance and teamwork is optimised amongst all roles Being one of the emergency contacts for the cafe team in case of absence or emergency, and make any immediate or necessary arrangement Inputting in decision-making when cafe operation is disrupted and notify General Manager if cafe is closed within business hours

With Line manager: lead weekly meetings with the Head of Operations to discuss all matters that arise related to cafe provide insights to cafe performance and come up with plans to resolve operational issues, improve team efficiency and increase productivity proposing ideas to cafe offerings that answer to seasonality and any trend observed

With a wider Fair Shot team: contribute in bi-weekly management meetings with the Fair Shot management team including Marketing, Events and Programme side of things, through regular big picture updates on cafe team and performance act as the bridge between office team and cafe team to ensure transparent communication and the team thrives on a positive work culture send out monthly summary to the whole Fair Shot team as a quick update of your department, capturing the team progress, highlights and areas of opportunities

Cafe Experience: Ensuring that the café environment is always pleasant and welcoming in line with the Fair Shot Café ethos, taking pride in cafe presentation and all things related to customer experience ( e.g. cleanliness, music, plants and maintenance) Taking immediate actions and communicating necessary arrangement in regards to cafe maintenance, and any repair or servicing to ensure smooth operation Lead by example in interacting with customers and represent Fair Shot in a professional manner. Replying and acknowledging customer complaints, escalate to Head of Operations if/ when needed for further problem solving Keeping clear record of cafe key holders (within the cafe team)

Health & Safety: Identify areas of improvement regarding cleanliness and any standard practice and raise any areas of concerns according to health and safety regulations, such as HACCP, temperature records etc using trail app Be on top of food safety and quality, working with chef to promote efficient team effort towards shelf life matrix Ensuring all Health & Safety regulations compliance are followed and actively work towards resolving any risk in a proactive manner, including chemical use Ensure food allergen and information on price labels is accurate at all times reflecting changes of ingredients or suppliers Deliver training to both employees and learners regarding food safety, allergens awareness, and hygiene in the kitchen
